- Select a folder (not from the tree view)
- Press F3 to search
- Search for something where you will get multiple results (didn´t test if it works with one result)
- Select one of them > Right click > Rename
Result: The search windows loses focus and FreeCommander gains focus again. The folder from where I started the search via F3 is shown and enabled to be renamed.

621 - Renaming a file from a search result
Re: 621 - Renaming a file from a search result
Problem still exists in 637 with the small difference that the folder name isn´t enabled for renaming anymore.
Re: 621 - Renaming a file from a search result
Sorry, but F3 is used for View, not for Search!
Re: 621 - Renaming a file from a search result
Ah yes, I have changed the shortcut. Didn´t think of that when posting, but it shouldn´t depend on which shortcut is used.
Re: 621 - Renaming a file from a search result
I still can't reproduce the problem. I don't have Rename on Right click in Search Dialog.
Re: 621 - Renaming a file from a search result
Have you clicked on one of the files from the search result? For me this opens the "normal" Windows context menu where I can rename it.
Re: 621 - Renaming a file from a search result
Yes, "normal" Windows context menu is opened (Windows XP is used in my case), but there is no Rename there.
I have Open, Edit, Create, Print, Save as..., Open with..., Send to..., Cut, Copy, Create shortcut, Delete, Properties.
That's all.

Re: 621 - Renaming a file from a search result
Hmm, that´s strange. I am using Win7 but afair the entry "rename" was also there in WinXP. It´s right above "Properties" in the German version.
I just noticed another thing: In the current directory, there is a mkv-file. I searched for avi-files and have a list of some results from the sub-directories. When I choose "MediaInfo" from the context menu (specific program, not from Windows), I get the data for the selected file from the search result. But when I choose "Rename" for one avi-file, the mkv-file is shown and ready for renaming.
