Win 7 64 bit.
I removed the freecommander XE config in AppData/Local i had to make sure wasnt my config.
This is the normally installed XE 626 version i just grabbed and installed.

Everytime I quit freecommander XE i get a dialog.

'FreeCommander - freeware file maanger for Windows has stopped working'
With the 3 buttons
'check online for a solution and close the program.'
'close the program'
'debug the program'

Just for interest I upgrade from NVIDIA driver 310.90 - to NVIDIA driver 314.22.
Still happens.

NOTE: i didnt try 320.18, as read about to many problems with that one to try it.

Oh thats very interesting, thankyou.

I dont believe it will resolve my problem.
Myy secondary GPU [yes i have a i5 3570 cpu with onboard graphics] but this devices is disabled in device manager so isnt visible in the nvidia control panel. Hence i believe nothing can choose to use it.

But I will explore this in relation to my problem, by enabling and testing it with and without settings.

Well it seems disabling the GPU in windows device manager still allows the fault - it somehow still having an impact.
If I rename nvinit.dll to nvinit.dll.bak the crash goes away... [found this a suggestion in a forum]
Just love great hardware and drivers sigh!

Anyway managed to find a non obvious to me option in bios to disable the GPU in the Intel CPU.
"IGPU Multi Monitor" set to Disabled, seems to fully remove that GPU from windows it no longer appears in windows device manager.
With this setting and nvinit.dll restore no crashes.

Thank you for your response, it pushed me in the right direction.
It also may have addressed another application problem ive had very infrequently with another app :)
Thanks,
Robin
