613 - List View - Column Widths

#1 Post by jcaiken » 24.02.2013, 22:47

Default Column width for "Name" when using using list view in a folder is 0, which appears to be taken as 'maximise'. 'Setting' this to 30 works fine.
However, the column width when selecting the Desktop or PC name in the folder list has a different set of very wide column widths. I couldn't find the appropriate 'Setting" to adjust these widths and any manual adjustments don't appear to be 'sticky' as they keep getting reset to the defaults.

Sorry, my mistake - I should have said Detail view not List.
Has that also come up before?

- set details view
- go to desktop
- Shift+F1
- select "Column profiles" and "Add column profile specific to folder..."
- accept the "Desktop" as name
- go to Tools-Settings-Custom columns
- open the definition for "Desktop" view and change the column size for name as you like

Thanks for that.

It works fine, but to totally solve the problem I had to define separate Folder-specific column widths for the 'My Computer' folder and for the 'Desktop' folders in each of the left and right panes.
