Indentical Encoding in Search files/folders, request for new

In Search files/folders in "Search file content" in dropdown "Encoding" we see 11 absolutely identical "Mac" encodings (only 3 letters). What are they for and what is the difference between them?
Also there is need for new encoding named "Auto". User usually don't know what encoding has document. And if to search with default options (Encoding by default is empty) russian text - nothing would be found. And through all possible encodings, in which text can be written is not an easy task. Because of that such type of search is just useless.
