835 F4/Edit doesn't work when FC is first started.
Steps to reproduce,
1. Close FC.
2. Open a folder containing text files for example.
3. Select with mouse or ctrl+A and press F4 or Edit from the file menu.
4. Doesn't open them open in the default editor.
I think this has happened even when the program has been open a while, so it's kind of hit and miss.

Even when you close FC, reopen and try?
It doesn't for me with a clean version.
Maybe it's when more than one file is selected.

Can't reproduce in 835, Windows 10 2004, custom and default settings.
Are you sure that at least 1 file is also focused? I mean, when you enter the folder, press Ctrl+A and F4, it doesn't work, it's normal, because [..] item is focused, you have to move to selected file, Ctrl+Down (in not using NC-Mode), Down (if using NC-Mode).

See here, the panel is focused and as you can see the info panel at the bottom has the number of files selected.
Nothing happens in this gif at the start when I press F4 and then via the menu.

F4 / Edit edits the content of the file. Editing the content of multiple files does not work.
I guess you want to change the filename - use F2 / Rename for that

Editing multiple files does work. When it does work, any selected text file opens in sublime text.

It's not a bug, as I said, you need to focus any file with Ctrl+Down arrow, or first click to any file, then press Ctrl+A and F4.
I already suggested to change this behavior, because it's not intuitive, I'll add link here, if I find it.
EDIT: I can't find that topic, I think Marek explained it, I'm not sure if it was F4 or F3, but if [..] item is focused, files are not opened in editor/viewer.
OK, so if multiple files are selected and [..] item is focused, first selected file is opened in viewer, with F3, strange, so perhaps it could work with editor too, I'm not sure if it's possible or not.
Anyway, at least the workaround from above works, focus/click any file, ctrl+a, f4.

Definitely not intuitive. I was sure it was a bug.
Thanks for pointing out the focus was on [..].
Something I never noticed before.

Still can't find that topic, but I found another one, suggestion.
Currently if the focus is on [..] item and you press F2, Multi rename dialog is opened with all items/file in folder, you don't even have to press Ctrl+A, that suggestion is about implementing this behavior for other actions too, as option, you can check it (and support it, if you want), it's 10 years old, so I'm not sure if it's possible to add it.

Confirmed,
if as initially reported,
enter a folder,
Ctrl+A -> all files in folder are selected
Press F4 -> nothing happens
BUT
if I select all the files individually and then press F4
all files are opened in editor as desired.
When entering a folder, [..] is automatically focused (selected), F4 is pressed, all files are selected and [..] remains selected (I believe this is where the problem lies),
if I first select a file within the folder and then press Ctrl+A, all files are selected, BUT [..] is NOT selected and pressing F4 opens all files in editor.

Editing multiple files works here without problems.
Of course your choosen editor must support open multiple files from one command line.
