SUGGESTION — Popup dialog when performing backup

#1 Post by CabbageTree » 16.10.2019, 10:33

Hi there,

I think it would be great to have option to omit the dialog for choosing the folder when performing backup of FC settings. I do it several times in a week to the exact same folder. Maybe to save two additional clicks would be convenient.

Thank you

Why don't use the automatic backup (Settings > General > Auto backup > "once per day")?

Hi ralfso,

this is great idea and I have it enabled. But sometimes you want actual state backed up, (opened folders, FC settings) several times a day.

Strange, do you have a problem with the PC stability? Why you need to manually make several backups per day? I'm not sure, but perhaps try the Layouts, to save different group of tabs...

Well,

You are right to be honest, sometimes, when multicore render in After Effects is launched and the RAM gets bussy, some programs ocasionally crashes. FC could be one of them, so I perform a manual backup to prevent loosing the opened tabs. But the two additional clicks which I am talking about are not a big deal…
