Splitter toolbar button to launch an external application

Using FCXE v794 64-bit on Win7.

I'm trying to create a toolbar button in the middle of the Splitter toolbar to launch an external application.

I didn't see any commands to directly do this. (Let me know if there is one!)

So what I did was add the command to the Favorite Tools.

Then, in the configuration UI for the Splitter toolbar, I created a button for "Favorite Tool 01".

After doing this, the button appears in the Splitter, but is is always dimmed, and it does not respond to pointing device clicks.

Why is this not working?

I think it's a bug, I have reported this issue here:

Anyway, I couldn't reproduce it, but now I can reproduce it with default settings, in 794 (incl. test version).

It works for me:
- define favorite tool and assign hotkey
- add the favorite tool to the splitter toolbar

OK, sorry, I tested without a hotkey, it works with the hotkey.

Free4all - try to test with default settings, perhaps it's some option causing the problem.

I think I got it, if I disable "Show in - [ ] Menu" in Define favorite toolbars for that item, it's greyed-out.

If the Menu option is enabled, it's OK.

Ah, you have to assign a hotkey. Once I did that, it worked.

Why do you have to assign a hotkey for it to work?
