Asked about this in the free version forum by mistake. I have the donor version. Maybe I'll get a response here:

I have .mxf and DNxHD encoded .movs that play in both MPC-HC and VLC and I want to use the quick viewer to watch them. But my only choices are the outdated Media Player 9 and 6.4 which don't work.

Anyway to use MPC-HC or VLC as my quick viewer?

No, it is not possible.

However you could use other player as viewer (F3).
You can define for F3 and extension .mxf any program http://www.freecommander.com/fchelpxe/e ... ewers.html

Oh. I can already do that by clicking on the file itself. Thanks, anyway.

The inbuilt WM9 (or 6.4) viewer is way too limited.
