Number order seems incorrect?

#1 Post by mosis » 03.12.2013, 18:02

Hi, I have a folder with the following files in it, FCXE seems to view numbers as 'lower' value than a full stop:

backup_categories_products_export.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export10.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export11.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export12.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export13.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export14.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export15.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export16.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export17.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export18.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export2.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export3.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export4.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export5.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export6.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export8.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export9.xlsx

As you can see, the various versions aren't in number order - or am I doing something wrong?

If I reverse the sort (by Name), I get this:

backup_categories_products_export9.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export8.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export6.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export5.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export4.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export3.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export2.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export18.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export17.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export16.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export15.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export14.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export13.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export12.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export11.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export10.xlsx
backup_categories_products_export.xlsx

I don't know if it's a bug, or maybe there is a setting in preferences I need to change? I love FCXE by the way, great work Marek!

Many thanks Joby!
'Natural Sorting (As Explorer)' fixed it for me. FCXE really is amazing, there is just so much in it.
