Re: Status: file size in
I think this is the standard also in XE.
Right click on "name"-header chose "Add/remove columns" and chose "size auto".

i'm sorry, but I can't see that anywhere in XEralfso wrote:I think this is the standard also in XE.

Re: Status: file size in
It's a bit more complicated, but it's there...
Settings > Status Bar > Content:
Then click Define details button for all items, rows and change the row with size to "Size - auto size...", use the blue down-arrow button. It should look like this:
[fc_sizeAutoSel]

Re: Status: file size in
sure is a lot of work compared to 2009.02b
I changed them all to [fc_sizeAutoSel] but it still shows everything in MB and GB and not bytes or KB

My fault, I didn't recognize that you meant the status bar (I described the columns in the file pane).wynford wrote:i'm sorry, but I can't see that anywhere in XEralfso wrote:I think this is the standard also in XE.

what I'm trying to do, is to show all sizes only in Bytes
Re: Status: file size in
In settings for statusbar change all text pattern entries [fc_sizeAutoSel] by [fc_sizeSel] for bytes or [fc_sizeKBSel] for KB.
Furthermore if you have [fc_sizeAutoAll] entries, change them by [fc_sizeAll] for bytes.
You can see all possibilities by clicking on the blue dropdown button on the right side of the text pattern field and selecting "Size"

Re: Status: file size in
You can choose all patterns in the dropdown menu.what I'm trying to do, is to show all sizes only in Bytes
For Bytes: [fc_sizeSel]
Re: Status: file size in
maybe i'm not understanding properly
I changed everything to [fc_sizeSel] in the patterns, saved the settings, but the file sizes are still showing as Bytes, KB, MB and GB and not in just in Bytes

Re: Status: file size in
For a test I changed the statusbar entries for FcDefault_0 (single selection) and FcDefault_1 (multi selection) from [fc_sizeAutoSel] to [fc_sizeSel].
After applying in statusbar the sizes are shown in bytes as wanted.
(tested with a separate XE-portable v609)

Re: Status: file size in
now, how do I make free disc space show as Bytes instead of GB of the space that's still available on the drive?
Re: Status: file size in
It looks it's currently impossible AFAIK.
Re: Status: file size in
that's what I thought, I tried everything and couldn't get it show Bytes
