Is it possible to open file/folder with single click wherever the click is along the row, not just on the file/folder name? Like in the old version of FreeCommander.

It is possible with option Full row select (Settings > file/folder list > general).

However, this option is broken, you have to disable the option Theme off too (same location), then it works, but you have to click twice on the other columns than Name, in Details view.

Which view are you using? Are you sure those options are set correctly?

[x] Full row select
[ ] Theme off

Yes, the settings are correct. "Full row select" selected, "Themes off" unselected. Also the detailed view is selected.

Strange, could you post a screenshot with the file list, highlight where you click.

Edit: OK, tested with default settings, fresh ini:

a) when I click the space within the Name column, single click works
b) when I click the space beyond the Name column, single click doesn't work - double click works

E.g.:

Code: Select all

Name | Size | Type
filea.txt (a) | 20 KB (b) | Text file

Single click on a space within name column doesn't work for me. Double click beyond the name column works.

Strange, try to enable single click in Windows Explorer.

Don't know which option could affect this option.

Also try clean (re)install, and set these two options:

[x] Full row select
[ ] Theme off

Try to upgrade to the latest version, if you can, but I think it should work in previous version too.

This still doesn't work for me with the latest 598 version.

I tested on my system with fresh unpacked FCXE v598 / Win 7 (64bit):
[X] Open file with single click
[x] Full row select
[X] Theme off or [ ] Theme off

Clicking on highligted item:
Open with single click works on all columns and free space.

Clicking on not highligted item:
Open with single click works on name and free name space and with double click on other columns.
Regards
Ralf

I tried this settings on a virtual machine with Windows 7 and it is working, so may be the problem is only with windows xp because my main OS is windows xp.
