Easy way to focus selected file in new tab ?

#1 Post by etc. » 16.06.2012, 04:50

What I want to do:
Select a file (not a folder) on file container or plain view and open its parent folder of each file in new tab. (and focus the item, if possible.)
Files are not a folder and parent is not the parent of file container or plain view, but of each file.

If someone knows easy way to do this, please teach me.

What I did:
1. Drag the file to empty space of tab bar. This worked but unfortunately it is not possible with keyboard only.

2. Add FC XE to favorite toolbar with "/C /R=%ActivSel%". This worked and could focus the selected file. Cool!
But everytime annoying warning window 'Directry name is invalid' will open.

3. Add all files to quick starter repository. This didn't success because of a bug as I reported in an another topic.

4. Use search window. Unfortunately files are too many, using search each time is not realistic.

It would be nice if there was a command 'Focus selected item in new tab'. :D
