AwesomeCommander

Salvete! Well, I just couldn't help myself any more. I just have to express how much I love FreeCommander! I have tried every file-browser that I can find on the web - even some of the paid ones - even Total Commander, but *none* of them compare any longer to FreeCommanderXE.

Maybe we should rename to AwesomeCommander! (just kidding)

It is called "Free" Commander - not because it is free of charge (thank you, Marek!) - but because, whilst you use it, you are FREE to COMMAND!

Of all the programs on my computer, this is the one I love the most. It has a prominent place on my primary monitor and I never close the program at all except to restart Windows or to upgrade FC itself.

The colour coding of the files vastly improves my workflow by instant recognition. The splitter bar in the center works all my file operations - and everything is so easy to see! I typically have 15 directories open in my two panels. I have 8 toolbars - all of them entirely custom. Some of my buttons are dropdown menus that open files on other computers right into Notepad++. Some of them open directories across the network. Some of them let me open any file I like right into Photoshop. And the linked-browsing button lets me easily navigate the folders of my website and my devsite at the same time.

I confess that I have become dependent on FreeCommander. If I were not allowed to have it, I think I would cry.

Whew! I just had to get all that off my chest. :D

Ditto to all of the above. I would be lost without it.

Marek has done an awesome job.

DG
