I don't know if this can be be set in settings.I tried to set but doesn't find the options to set it:
First:
As you can see I've one selected object in both panel. In previous versions one item is only selected in active panel.
Second:
In previous version background color of item "IGRE" has the same color as unselected item.In this example color would be blue.
Can this be set to be like in previous version or this two thing are bugs?
I'm using Windows XP with SP3 and latest updates.
And now I can see that option to save ini file in FC folder is missing from this release? Will this option will return in the future releases?
2 possible problems and 1 question?
Re: 2 possible problems and 1 question?
Under Settings->Select items you can define colors. You should define background color for selected item the same as background color of the file list.
Extras->Save settings will save the settings to your FreeCommander.ini.
The current location of the FreeCommander.ini you can see under Help->Info.

Re: 2 possible problems and 1 question?
Already tried that with no luck.Still getting those two problems, for me.Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly in my first post.Marek wrote:Under Settings->Select items you can define colors. You should define background color for selected item the same as background color of the file list.
PROBLEM 1:
I'm trying to achieve this(picture from FC 2009.02b):
but I get this(picture from FC XE)-just ignore selected item "IGRE":
Items on the both panel are "selected" with blue (in this example) color in FC XE, but not i previous version of FC.
PROBLEM 2:
I'm trying to achieve this(picture from FC 2009.02b):
but I get this(picture from FC XE):
I know the location of the ini files. But in previous version program have option to choose to save ini file in the directory where is FC located. This is good thing because I have possibility to install FC, and just copy ini file to FC install folder and voila all settings are there.Or just unpack ZIP and c/p ini file...Extras->Save settings will save the settings to your FreeCommander.ini.
The current location of the FreeCommander.ini you can see under Help->Info.
Re: 2 possible problems and 1 question?
You can set the location of the ini-file at settings >>> start program >>> config file

Re: 2 possible problems and 1 question?
Yes, I know that, and in previous versions of FC I used this option to place ini file in FC directory.ralfso wrote:You can set the location of the ini-file at settings >>> start program >>> config file
In new test version this option is missing
I've downloaded the ZIP version of FC XE.
In previous stable versions of FC in FC dir you have file fcStart.ini in which is stored information about location of ini/config file.I tried to copy this file into FC XE but new test version doesn't use this system and still using settings from users dir.
Re: 2 possible problems and 1 question?
I think it's not implemented yet. You can move your configuration files from their original position to the FreeCommanderXE-folder.
They will be used.
With Vista they are located at:
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\FreeCommanderXE\
This thread should be moved to "Beta Discussion".

Re: 2 possible problems and 1 question?
You are right about this.I didn't try this, but after this post I've tried and it works.ralfso wrote:I think it's not implemented yet. You can move your configuration files from their original position to the FreeCommanderXE-folder.

Other two problems, for me, are maybe not bugs but feature. But it would be nice that user can setup new FC to be like the old one.Maybe in the next version it will be possible.
