Don't know if I'm being a bit thick here but I have just updated to windows11 and using Freecommander v858 64 and I can not get 'New text document' in the context (right-click) menu (works fine on windows10). I have copied working settings from win10 to win11 FC but still no go. I have tried earlier versions of Freecommander and 32 bit versions and they do not work either. New text document is working fir on windows explorer. My current workaround is to create a new text doc on windows desktop and cut/paste in to FC window-bit of a faf but it works ): I think it may be a setting (feature) somewhere in windows11 but I cannot find it (tried registry but still nogo).
Sorry for the long (first) post. Hooky
FC and Windows11 context menu
Re: FC and Windows11 context menu
OK sorted, it was a problem with Windows registry-possibly caused by Notepad++. All perfect now.

Windows 10/11 Context Menu - New Text Document Missing
Symptom: Right click context menu is missing New/New Text Document
Run the Registry restore for text document and it will fix it. Not the one for the Rich text document.

Re: FC and Windows11 context menu
The "fix" at https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/244 ... -10-a.html is talking about Windows 10 and NOT 11. We need another solution.
