Page Up/Down doesnt work

Keys Page Up/Down doesnt work for me (i expect go cursor on the first(last) directory(file) on actual panel...)

I've tried with the latest version (2008.06a) and Keys Page Up/Down work fine.
Which version do you use?

Please always specify the version, "latest" is not enough - there are two latest versions now, official and beta.

I think I know what you mean, but it's not a bug, but request. I think I have already requested this, but I couldn't find it.

You are on third item (file/folder) (for example), press Page Up - and you expect the first item will be selected, right?

BTW There is a workaround - left/right cursor keys are working as you expect.

OK, it's not a bug, it's a standard Windows (Explorer) behaviour.

I repeat again, this is for List view mode FreeCommander (used by me).

Left/Right has similiar functionallity, but with semi-steps. When you have multiple columns, then Left Right works as expect. Move cursor between columns. When you on the last column, then cursor logically jump on the end of list.

But Page Down functionallity is broken. In text editors for example it jump "down over page" - that means jump over 2 columns on FreeCommander (more than Left/Right) and it is logical behauviour.

But at the end of text document, when you pres Page Down, cursor always jump to the last character on document. An this behauvior is broken , bug on FreeCommander. Try press Page Down(Up) on the middle of last column. Cursor stay.

I dont want compare FC with text editors, I just pointed on expected function Page Up/Down keys on system. I agree, there are 2 different point of views, but one is much more usefull.

You cant compare FC with Windows Explorer, and when you do, look at function Left/Right on Explorer and FreeCommander. It is different and guess why.. Explorer isnt good and intuitive file manager, and if you take him as ideal program, by which decide FreeCommander functionall behauvior and his functions, you crazy..

I think this is very easy for implementation, I will hope for implement this

I don't like Explorer too and I hate when I must use it (just to copy and open FC).

I still think it's not a bug, but it's just my opinion.

Anyway, I like this suggestion, but only Marek can implement this feature.

Thanks Marek, what about other similar options, already requested:

1. Left/right keys in details view working as page up/down

2. Select the first item in the next row on the last item in thumbnails view and right arrow is pressed, the same with the left key.

Example:

item1 item2 item3
item4 item5 item6
item7 item8 item9

- press right key

item1 item2 item3
item4 item5 item6
item7 item8 item9

- press left key

item1 item2 item3
item4 item5 item6
item7 item8 item9

I just got 369 beta and tried List mode.

Page Up and Page Down were mentioned in the text file, so I followed the addy to see what the fix was.

I confirmed that Page Up and Page Down do work, but found something else that I think needs to be fixed.

If you hold down the SHIFT key to make selections, the SHIFT-PG UP and SHIFT-PG DN operations are not working in LIST mode.

They seem to work fine in DETAILS mode though.

Hope it's a quick fix.

Man, these forums are great. I love how the README file has addresses to the specific discussion thread that each fix was based on. It's a great concept.
