FreeCommander XE 0.0.0.550 - Computer Driver Letters First

This bug appears in FreeCommander XE 0.0.0.550 public preview.

I always change my computer to display the driver letter first, insted the default by MS, which is to display the drive labelled before the driver letter. This can be accomplished by using a simple registry hack, which works on Windows XP and Windows 7.

However when I use FreeCommander XE and I expand "Computer" I still see the Driver Label first and the driver letter hidden at the end.

Thank you

Do you see the drive letter first in all other programs such as in their Open or Save dialogs?
That is, is it universal except only in FC?

Actually I don't. Within any apps when I select "open" or "save as" I see the driver letter at the end. However my concern is when I'm using FC to navigate my list of folders. I would like it to behave the same way as Windows Explorer where I can see drive letters first.

Here is a screen shot of my folders: On the left Windows Explorer and on the right FC.

Thank you.

Thanks, that's helpful trouble-shooting information. The registry tweak you used to show drive letters first is specific for Windows Explorer only -- it is not system-wide. Note that the registry key is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer. That's why it doesn't affect any other program, including FC or any file manager for that matter. It's not a bug in FC. Sorry, because it does look nice to have the drive letters lined up evenly at the front.

wow! - your explorer tweak really is superb!!

why MS would put the most important info at the end has ever been a mystery to me.

hopefully Marek takes a look at your image (http://www.jfjunior.ca/z-screen-shots/fc.jpg) and thinks of implementing it.
