Can't save layouts. FC 2009.02, Vista home premium

Hello-
pressing ctrl-G, then button 1 brings up text box. I enter layout name. At this point, if I press enter, the layout name disappears. pressing ctrl-G again, shows it is gone. If I do not press enter, but only "OK" the layout name persists until I close FC. When I reopen FC, the layout is also gone.

The help file says "Complete entering the name with the ENTER-key. , then, Save your settings with OK. " Unfortunately this is not working for me. Can you help me save layouts, please?
