Windows Live ID
>> On a system running Windows XP, Service Pack 2, have had problems with Windows Live ID 3 times, ESPECIALLY after going to Microsoft's site.
>> I have NEVER "knowingly" signed up for Windows Live ID.
>> A Windows Live ID pop-up window appears & then FreeCommander will not work at all (emphasized by the "grayed out" top title bar in the "window").
>> Temporary fix was to UNINSTALL, then REINSTALL.
I say "temporary" because this should not be necessary.
>> I have not done an in-depth investigation of all possible solutions, but so far, it is my understanding that, in order to TERMINATE Windows Live ID, you have to sign up for it (which I refuse to do), then terminate it, & also some Registry tweaks may be in order.
>> As a result of exposure of the unethical shenanigans of Gates & Co. , I keep wondering if this rogue Windows Live ID popup window is intentional malware or just bad karma.
>> FREECOMMANDER IS A GREAT PROGRAM!! Can't do without it.[/b]
