Zipping large amount of files leads to crash

#1 Post by Ars » 07.10.2008, 13:13

When I've tried to zip a folder with total size of ~700 MB with internal packer, FC has been died with error "Access violation at address 0x0000000" after showing "100% done" ; moreover, after closing FC and starting it again, it didn't show its main window until I opened Task Manager and killed a "zombie" FC process...

I just did a test with a 1.5 gigabyte folder...all went OK here (FC 2008.06a)

Is it failing every time you pack a large folder, to & from different drives and/or partitions ?

Did you check DrWatson (if you allow crash dumps to be made)...

and possibly check your Event Viewer for clues ?

Hopefully someone will have an idea what`s happening. :?

This is local drive, with a lot of free space.
Seems that it is non-constant issue.
Also, FC dies sometimes when a file is copied by Ctrl-C Ctrl-V from network drive in FC to the desktop.
