Visible slow double refreshing

#1 Post by kursad » 09.08.2008, 01:20

Hi

FC refreshes tabs multiple times when I activate them. Basically when I change to next tab what happens is that FCrefreshes folder-file list twice before constructing the full list. This all happens in 1-2 sec depends on whether it is a network drive or offline drive. Functionality wise it does not affect much but visually it makes it unappealing to browse tabs and folders.

I have
-autorefresh on drive disabled
-icons are registered icons
-I use details column mode
-Folder Tree is not visible in either side
-I use custom columns (I have date creation as extra)

Thanks for the update. The "double refresh" problem is gone, but I yet have visible refreshes. The refresh problem naturally more visible when I have more files in the directory.

Marek

It looks like you tweaked it little further in the latest beta(369), and it feels way way better. But it would be great it is very snappy and would show no sign of refreshes.

Btw just you kno enabling custom columns makes it worse.

thanks

Marek

After trying and testing this issue for a while I see that this refresh is sometimes worse sometimes better. I really do not know how that could be because I am on 4 quad pc with 8gb ram (xp 64bit) so I have quite cpu cycles and memory. I doubt any background application may cause this. Generally number of tabs that are open is same overall. So sometimes I get no refresh problem(very little lets say) sometimes I am hitting double refreshes.

Any ideas?

Marek, it feels little better. At least double refresh has gone away so far. But I yet see visible refresh when I change between tabs.
