Folderlist not refreshed

#1 Post by bartdeliefde » 09.07.2008, 10:16

Hey,

I've notices that sometimes when deleting a folder the folderlist isn't refreshed automatically.

I'm using FC 2008.06 and XP PRO and I use the "double treestructure".

To be more specific...

I have the idea that this problem occurs when deleting a couple of files containing at least one of them to be a file which is in use by another program causing an error message to popup preventing the folderlist to be refreshed.

I can't reproduce it by the way. If I'm not mistaking it seems that it appears not on a regular basis....

Hello together,
I like FreeCommander but this is one of the most serious issues I see with this application. If some other process changes a directory structure I'm in with FreeCommander, I can't update or refresh it. It stays the old way as I opened it the first time.

You mean tree view or file list?

Both... it happens frequently and when no other program is open for it or accessing it.

Just to confirm... This problem exists in the older version as well as the current one.

I think I have noticed this also, but have not really kept track of the behavior closely enough to be able to determine a pattern.

I usually do a manual refresh (CTRL-R).

But perhaps if Marek added a check box that says something like this:

"Force refresh after file operation"

I sort of took that wording directly from the PowerDesk Pro 5 Preferences dialog under General Settings.

It would be nice to have the option and be able to toggle it on and off. That way the user could decide if the forced refresh is worth the potential hit in performance or not.

Even refresh does not work.

Even if I hit refresh, from the menu or from the keyboard, the folder tree is not refreshed. This bug occurs sometimes even if I use FreeCommander itself to create a new folder. The only way to update the folder tree is to shut down FreeCommander and restart it. (I am using version 2007.10a.)

Same here. I often have to manually refresh, one way or the other. For example, when I'm in "Ctrl+Q mode", viewing pictures: I move a picture to another folder (F6), but the 'position' is not refreshed - it's still showing the moved picture.
