can't drag files from elsewhere to drop in fc window

I find that I can't drag files from elsewhere or from windows explorer windows to drop the same in fc window.

why so? any setting is required for that?

Does your issue happen only when dragging to network drives or when dragging to any drive\folder? Mine works fine when the drive\folder is local or it's a mapped drive. I can't drag from my desktop to a network drive (just gives the "No" sign (circle with line through it)) but I can open my desktop in one pane and then use the copy command to copy the file.

everything is in on my local pc only, either hard disks or pen drives.

Intenet is connected, but there is no other pc or device making a network.

I can't drag-drop anything from desktop or windows explorer to fc window nor vice versa.

It restricts file transfer lot, I have to open windows explorer for any file transfer that is not open in fc tab. Though I can drag drop within fc and its tabs.

I am not aware. whatever start menu, or taskbar icon fc installer creates, I click that only. I am not aware whether that has admin rights or not.

how to assign admin rights to that, or to batch file fc command line?

wow, holding ctrl works,

My decade long prolbem solved.

though I wonder why ctrl key qualifier should be required.

Also, Ctrl does copy. but if I have to MOVE the file, not copy, what is the qualifier? pressing Ctrl and Shift doesn't seem to work, this combo is saying it will create a link of the dragged file in the destination folder.

I have tried only to-fro desktop and fc window, I haven't yet tried between windows explorer and fc.

You should not run FC with admin rights, it was just a question.

If you don't want to use Ctrl, just switch the "blocking transfer" option, disable, if it was enabled.

Which FC version and OS version are you using?

First try to upgrade FC to latest version.

It works good here, FC 810a 32-bit public, 822 64-bit donor, Windows 10 2004 64-bit.

I am using FC XE 2020 810a 32-bit public

It cannot be a bug, it has to be some settings.
