Allow "Drives Bar" to be moved to tool bar line

#1 Post by offpath » 19.01.2014, 23:53

Treat the "Drives Bar"/menu like an additional toolbar, and allow it to be moved to the toolbar line, if space is available there. This presumes only 1 drives bar for both panels. The reason is to optimize top to bottom real estate, a particular issue on 16:9 displays. The current system wastes space.

I agree, being able to move the drive pop-up button up onto the main bar would be a great idea.

Ideally, both drive pop-up buttons could be moved independently to different places on the top bar.

(I was just about to post the exact same request and then found this thread !)

I like the idea, even though I don't use any drive panel...

BTW I use the options "show drive button in address bar" and "show only icon", all other drive bars are disabled. For the free disk space I'm using the status bar. So try this as workaround.

That`s a good compromise - but would be better if it was possible to increase the size of the icon a little.
I think that`s why I didn`t keep it like that originally when configuring XE because the drive pop-up button was wider and easier to hit with a fast moving cursor :)

I`ve only been using XE for the past day or so as the early betas caused problems and was (and I still am) happy with FC2009 v418 - no problems with it, but recently noticed the x64 version.

Also, I didn`t realise it was so long ago when i first installed FC ! (I would have signed up on this forum at the same time)

I'd prefer to have the drive bar in the same line as the tab bar.
