Exiftool - more items for audio files in multi rename

#1 Post by Dreamer » 24.05.2021, 23:13

Exiftool can be used in multi rename also for non-image files, e.g. it works with the flac files, e.g. [exift_Artist] works good.

I think it can read also other tags, they could be added to multi rename too.

Hi Dreamer,

are you referencing the ability to extend or edit the list of exiftool metadata names referenced here?

If so, as far as I understand, you have to use the metadata name Artist and not [exift_Artist].
Correct me if I have misunderstood.

Best regards,

Yes, it is possible.
Currently you can modify/add tags in the freecommander.mren.ini file.
The small description how to make it you can find here: https://freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/MetadataExif.html.

Thanks, it's not so important for me, it's quite slow, but if "artist" is in the list, I think also "title" should be there by default - and perhaps also some other most used items for image and audio files, so it would be usable for normal users.
