Auto selectable views

#1 Post by famine » 13.02.2020, 06:26

I want to use Auto selectable views and switch to another folder without changing the file ordering.
Machine translation sorry.

I don't understand either, please try to explain it better.

Anyway, I'll try to answer, try the option "Lock view", main menu > View > Lock view (Shift+F9).

I want to use Auto selectable views and switch to another folder without changing the file ordering.
I do not know, if it is the right answer but the automatic view has the option "Sort on:".
Set this option to <No change>.

Auto selectable views while keeping files sorted manually.
The nice thing about this is that I don't have to manually reorder when I switch to another directory and trigger Auto selectable views.
Set this option to <No change> does not hold my current sort, we should change this option to "hold current manual sort".
"Lock view" will disable Auto selectable views. That doesn't make sense.

The <No change> option, taken literally, should be to not make any changes to the sort, keeping the high priority of manual intervention rather than meaningless sort.It doesn't help the user, I think.

Strange, so <No change> doesn't work for you? It looks as a bug, could you provide some steps to reproduce, perhaps try it with default settings?

EDIT: OK, so if I use <No change> , switch sorting to Size and go to subfolders, sorting is preserved, but if I go up - above the locked path, to root (D: in my case), then go back to main locked path, sorting is changed back to "Name", so I think it's a bug.

I've tested that using <No change> deactivates manual sorting by switching to a subdirectory or a parent directory.I'm not sure what the logic is, but it mixes folders and files.

Could you explain what you mean exactly, how it mixes them? You mean it's file, folder, file folder? Without that option is enabled? Try with default settings.
