Replace Explorer Shell in Win7 to FreeCommander XE by R-Clk

#1 Post by JWvL_software » 14.08.2015, 21:54

 This will not replace but add it correctly in Windows 7,
because the ]Original Explorer Shell :!: MUST be maintained :!:
for Control Panel Screens to display properly.

 However since it MUST default to the Explorer Shell,
:!: a right click will be required :!: to view in FreeCommander XE.

:!: :!: :!: (If "FileCommander XE" is in BOLD letters then that is the default,
so the Control Panels WILL NOT WORK
:!: :!: :!:

Here is the correct reg file for Windows 7, using the new XE version
opening only single or in left pane:

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
REGEDIT5

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell]
@=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\FreeCommander XE]
@="FreeCommander XE"

Open a new file in an editor and copy and paste the following:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\FreeCommander XE\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\FreeCommander XE\\FreeCommander.exe\" /C /L=\"%1\""
 Change the path in the last line to your fc-install-directory.

If you want the folder to be opened in the right pane, then change /L to /R.

Then save it as an "MS ini" file to FCXE-Add.reg.

To change it back to default; copy the following:

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
REGEDIT5

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell]
@=""

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\FreeCommander XE]
Then save it as an "MS ini" file to FCXE-Remove.reg.
