Customize DOS prompt

#1 Post by joq » 20.08.2012, 08:51

Hi,
I love the fact that Freecommander allows me to open a DOS prompt in any given folder by pressing CTRL + D. However, is there a way to customize the parameters that affect the DOS window that pops up? In particular, I have the Windows taskbar on the lefthand part of my screen (no autohide), and when I launch the command prompt in Freecommander, the upper left corner of the window is in the upper left corner of the screen - which means part of the DOS window is hidden under the taskbar....

Once the DOS window is open, I can go to Properties > Layout > Window position to set this, however this setting is ignored by Freecommander.

Any tips?

It works for me with FreeCommander XE on Win7/64.

I think the position of the DOS box is entirely up to Windows, not FC.
Does the same thing happen if you open a DOS box from elsewhere, e.g. from RUN: cmd?
What versions of FC and Windows are you using?
This works correctly for me in FC-XE 598, Win7-64.

Hi,
the positioning of the DOS Window works correctly when initated by RUN:cmd.

I am using:
  • Freecommander 2009.02b
  • Windows XP Professional SP3

You might see if this works properly for you in FC-XE (two of us have reported that it does). 2009x is not being developed any more.
