data load error when doing large transfer 70 GB directory

hello
i am trying to copy a large folder (about 70 GB, 82,000 files) from a networked computer to another one and i get error "data load error" on a copy dialog screen.
i have selected "perform operation using unbuffered i/o" andit still will not initiate process.
i can move "smaller" folders but this one is stuck...
any suggestions how to do this?
i am on a local wi-fi network and i can see the folder and subfolders.
