hi all
i m stuck with this issue - as i am transferring files from another networked computer all time stamps are set to today's date (or the date/ time of the move), which is normal windows behavior.
is there a way to copy time creation and time of last access of those files/folders?
this would be of great help as i use this data in the data processing.
thanks!
How to transfer time stamps when copying files/folders?
Re: How to transfer time stamps when copying files/folders?
The new FreeCommander XE has the option "Preserve file/folder timestamp" for copy/move operation.
You must however under "Settings-File/folder operations" set the copy operation to "Use FreeCommander".

Re: How to transfer time stamps when copying files/folders?
thank you for your quick reply
i do not see this option "Preserve file/folder timestamp" for copy/move operation in FC XE.
where would it be?
i went through the settings, yet could not find it.
the folder does not keep the original date, only the transfer date (which was today).
files in the copied folder kept the original timestamps, though.
any ideas? suggestions?
thanks

The option is not in the settings dialog.i do not see this option "Preserve file/folder timestamp" for copy/move operation
You can find the option in the copy/move dialog at the bottom.
It is important that you use the option "Use FreeCommander" for copy/move operation.
Re: How to transfer time stamps when copying files/folders?
got it now, it is under "copy with dialog" option (icon), but that icon has to be added to the toolbar...
great option, but not so great way to accomplish simple task.
not sure how less experienced ppl might get this though
got it sorted, thanks
