Custom Windows Taskbar Icon

#1 Post by pamatje » 16.09.2010, 10:29

Is it possible to change the Windows (XP) taskbar icon for FreeCommander to another one than the 4 predefined ones? If yes, how?

I don't think so.

Moved to General Discussion, this is not a bug.

thank you dreamer. Sorry, didn't know I listed this as a bug.

Marek, it would be very nice if I could change the taskbar icon to a custom image. It's not meant as an insult concerning the quality of the design of the logo. By contrast, I would like to use the default ms windows explorer folder-image as icon (so you see, it can't be the design) because it pops out to the eye  .

Use Resource hacker.
You should replace one of the icons (e.g. Icon/7/1031 ->right click ->replace resource).

There should be no problems with the license as long as you use it only for yourself and won't redistribute the modified package (I believe).
There are plenty of places where you can get the windows explorer icon (like shell32.dll).

hmm, the 'especially' suggests some room but
"5. The software, especially the name of the software and the name of the author must remain unmodified."
Thank you anyway

If the moderators won't delete my previous post, I write here: be careful, the method described in my previous post brakes the license (it does not matter it's just a tiny modification that won't affect the software's functionality in any way)!
Thanks for pointing that out!
