Selecting a file/folder by typing its name

#1 Post by error_empire » 13.01.2015, 09:43

Hi all,
I like to select a file or a folder name by typing its name. So this feature works by typing case insensitive only lowercase letters, during that an edit field is popping up showing the typed in word

However I like to type case sensitive (I'm used to be precise at this point, as I work pretty often on linux machines  ) and I ran into problems with folder / file names which contains large letters.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Completely removed the hotkeys that are set to Shift+A-Z for changing a drive in the current window
2. Tried to type in a file/folder name which contains large letters.

Expected behaviour:
Selection of file/folder works in the same way as for lowercase letters.

Observed behaviour:
The popped up edit field disappears after the first large letter has been typed. No edit field at all appears, if the large letter is the first letter of the folder / file name.
Furthermore the folder/file is not selected.
What's even more strange, I have a folder called "CodeLite", there before typing the "e" no edit field pops up. I supposed it pops up after typing the first small letter.

Tested with latest stable build XE 2014 (release 650) and latest beta build XE 2015 release 680.

Best wishes
Timo
