Turning off ALT+ V does not work like in case of CTRL + B

#1 Post by Forez » 30.10.2019, 12:50

I can press CTRL + B thus turn on a special mode of view. I can then press CTRL + B again to revert my view to a normal one

I can press ALT+ V thus turn on a special mode of view. But when I press ALT+ V again, nothing happens. Why?

In a matter of fact in order to get rid of that ALT + V mode, I need to navigate to some parent or sub-folder within that Panel or... press CTRL + B twice to zero-out the view modes

Build 810a 32-bit Public still has this issue

I do not view this as a bug but it makes using FC in that matter inconvenient and it sure makes it look inconsistent

Cannot the ALT+V shortcut act as a ON/OFF switch, just like CTRL+B does, instead of being executing just ON state?

Are you using "Alt+V" for default action - "Compare"?

Are you using this shortcut on purpose, or by mistake?

I'm not sure if it should work as a switch.

Anyway, you can remove that shortcut, if you're using it by mistake.

If you just want to disable any special mode, you can use the option "Reset view", toolbar button can be added, default shortcut is "Alt+R", it works for actual tab and current panel.

No, I do not use it by mistake

For me current behavior is both non logical [as the other does work like a switch] and counterproductive [as it requires more than one quick step to be turned off]
