Dreamer wrote: 05.12.2017, 20:41There are some known issues / limitations, which should be fixed later, you can find the list in the Color Schemes - Guide topic. Before you start a new topic, please read this topic.
The color of some elements can't be changed (probably it will be possible in the future):

Line between main menu and standard toolbar
Line between items panel and status bar
Columns header in Details view
Scrollbars
Gridlines
...

Hi, Marek / Dreamer,
Great color schemes! But there is one question: "What line (phrase) in *.colors, hides/shows .ext (.extension) at the end of the "Name" column?

Example 1. Like in color scheme "White_Default.colors" (.ext is not visible at the end of the "Name" column)

Code: Select all

|NAME |
Example 2. Like in your other color schemas (.ext is visible at the end of the "Name" column)

Code: Select all

|NAME .ext|
Sincerely, John.

Hello John, welcome to the FreeCommander forum.

Color scheme files should not affect the extension in details view, if you mean this.

Which version are you using? If it's not the latest, try to download the latest version.

If you have problem with the latest version, what is the name of the problem color schemes? Like FcCs_White_Default.colors and FcCs_Dark_Grey_Flat_Default.colors.

So.
I will try to explain again.
First, on FCX 2019-1, I launched different color schemes.
And the column "Name" constantly changed its appearance.

--FCX-2019-1--
Your color scheme is "White_Default" and the option "Show extension in "Name" column":
option enabled / option disabled

Code: Select all

|NAME.ext | or |NAME |
Any other color scheme of yours and the option "Show extension in "Name" column":
option enabled / option disabled

Code: Select all

|NAME.ext .ext| or |NAME .ext|
--FCX-2020-1--
Your color scheme is "White_Default" and the option "Show extension in "Name" column":
option enabled / option disabled

Code: Select all

|NAME .ext| or |NAME .ext|
Any other color scheme of yours and the option "Show extension in "Name" column":
option enabled / option disabled

Code: Select all

|NAME .ext| or |NAME .ext|
But several times (I could not repeat it, on White_Default.colors) with FCX 2019-1 and the option "Show extension in" Name "column"): And this was the appearance of the "Name" column:
option enabled / option disabled

Code: Select all

|NAME.EXT .ext| or |NAME .ext|
Perhaps (IMHO) is this some kind of bug with positioning .EXT in the "Name" column?

(I hope now I’ve written this text more clearly) :) :)
(I know that I am too verbose and hard to understand...)

First, just the latest version is important, here you can find the FC version, you can even copy it and paste here, important is the "build" number.

FAQ – FreeCommander - version

Add also your Windows version.

Or you can download the latest version here - if you don't have the build 810a or newer, first try this version, please:

And some tips, some steps to reproduce would be easier to understand:

System Version: Windows XP SP3 (2600)
Program Versions: Below

Well, this time I will do with a simple description of the "bug with. EXT".

On FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 810a 32-bit public:
If the color scheme is White_Default, .EXT (any extension) will be in the column immediately after the file name.
In any of your other color schemes - .EXT will be located outside the file name and close to the end of the column.

On FreeCommander XE 2019 Build 790a 32-bit public / FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 810a 32-bit public:
In any color scheme - .EXT will be located outside the file name and close to the end of the column.

I don’t know the “bug with .EXT” because of different versions of the program (Setup or Portable) or because of Windows XP.
Before that, I always used public portable versions of the program with my own color schemes and only recently on your color schemes did I see a difference in the location of .EXT

And why do I keep writing these texts about .EXT? I just wanted to know the setting for moving .EXT from the end of the file name to the end of the Name column... (Clearly, there is no such setting)

Overall, excuse me, maybe I did not need to start my strange conversation about .EXT.

I'm really, really sorry, John.

It's OK, if you have a problem, you can ask.

I'd just need to know, which color scheme to test, they were created with different versions, so they could be different.

Your problem is, that the extension is not right next to the file name, like this "testfile.txt", but it's right aligned to file name column, right? It's not missing - or not in the other column, like "Extension" or "Type" column.

Try the option in Settings > View > File/folder list > "[ ] Right align extension for details and list view", disable this option.

Or in column profiles use option "[v] Show extension in "Name" column".

More here: https://freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/C ... files.html

Anyway, this option should not be in the .colors file and it should not be used.

I feel like I've missed something here but can't figure out what.
How do I get the dialogs to be coloured? I have a dark scheme of my own (what hard work!) but the dialogs are still Windows grey/white.
I've tried comparing my colors file with the new FcCs_FreeCommander_Dark_Blue.colors file to see what I've missed but can't see anything obvious there that colours dialog elements.

The dialog colors are possible only in the predefined color schemes FreeCommander_Solarized, FreeCommander_Dark_Blue, FreeCommander_Dark, FreeCommander_Light and only in the 64 bit version.
The dialog colors are predefined and can not be changed.
