Color Schemes - Discussion

#1 Post by Dreamer » 05.12.2017, 20:41

Here you can comment default and user's color schemes, report the issues, unreadable text, make suggestions for existing color schemes and request the new color schemes. If you comment an existing color scheme, please provide a link or/and name from the Color Schemes - Files, so it will be easy to find it and reply.

Do not comment any general issues, missing custom color, or general feature requests, create a new topic instead, please.

There are some known issues / limitations, which should be fixed later, you can find the list in the Color Schemes - Guide topic. Before you start a new topic, please read this topic.

No 'Color Schema' in View submenu

#2 Post by kwarr » 06.12.2017, 12:17

Hi Marek,
I have just installed Build 740 64-bit donor and reloaded the program a few times.
There is no 'Color Schemas' item in the View submenu
I downloaded a schema and saved it in C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\FreeCommanderXE\ColorSchemas
I am using Windows 10 Home v1703.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Kip

Color schema is implemented first time in the release 761.

Thank you for your quick reply and for the information
The lifetime donation was one of the best things I ever did!

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I get release 761? I made a donation, downloaded and installed, but it's build 740. I do want my color schemas :-)

If you have made "one year" or "lifetime" donation - login to "Donor downloads" and click on "Current downloads" link.

I don't know. It was a $5 donation. I thought I was doing the right thing.

Thanks once again Dreamer

How about the color of font in address bar? I have read the limitation at listed at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8330 and I did not see a note about address bar; and yet at

Tools > Settings > View > Address Bar > Color / Font

unfortuntelly I also do not see an option to adjust the color of text within address bars

You need to click the color button and select "Font" item.

Thanks once more

How about the color of the for example "Menu" in Menu, when I hoover over it. I know now how to change its color when it is left alone- but I cannot find the option for when it is being "looked upon" with the pointer. And I know it can be changed, because this hihglight is different in other color schemas

[That is unfortunately the overall problem with FC aesthetic adjustment- the color management is scattered all over the options]
