I have been looking for a way to update MP3 tag info using freecommander. Is it possible?

No. You need mp3 editor program.

So why does in the detailed view mode, under Add/Remove Columns > Choose Details > Windows there are things like Album or Title?
What are they? Did Microsoft expect users to stop using MP3 and other audio files tag systems [ID3v1, ID3v2, APE]?

FC is able to read/show this info only, not edit.
