Sort by date/time

#1 Post by leeij » 30.09.2016, 13:10

My working conditions:
* FreeCommander XE 2016 Build 715 32-bit public
* under Windows 7

In most conditions when it sort by date/time, it is viewed like:

folder A
folder B
folder C
.....
(firstly in the order of the folder date/time)

file A
file B
file C
.....
(then in the order of the files date/time)

Would it be possible to sort in the below pattern?

file A
folder A
file B
folder B
file C
folder C
.....
(whatever it is folder or files, all in the order of their date/time respectively)

As in this arrangement, then the newest (or the oldest) file will be at the top but not the folders, it is easier for me to view it.

in the order of their date/time respectively
Tools - Settings - View - File/folder list - tab Sorting - switch ON 'Folders like files'

Can this option be put as an icon [turning it on / off], in the splitter?

Yes it can

It is in the "Folder" group of commands, in the "Define action toolbars"
