Copying from within a Zip/RAR

#1 Post by BobC » 28.05.2015, 16:09

Using FC XE2015 Build 685a 64Bit on a Win 8.1 machine.

If I enter a ZIP/RAR file and then try to use either the splitter bar option or drag and drop to copy a file to the other window the process fails (I think it's being defeated by UAC but not 100% sure).

To extract a file I need to open the zip/rar in an external archive program (e.g. 7Zip) and then drag and drop from there to the correct folder.

Am I missing some setting that I need to adjust or am I stuck with this ?

Apologies if the answer is somewhere in the documentation but I've not been able to locate it.

Interesting, with release 693 (64Bit) I can now copy from within archives using the copy command (F5). And with ZIP files but not with RAR I can also drop and drag them.

Zip and Rar are handled with different plugins with different potential.
Look at settings > Archiver plugins.
