What happened to FTP function?

I have used FC-2009 to send files to my web site but now it does not work. I can open the web site and see the file list but it will not allow me to drag a file from my computer onto the web site -- like it used to. I have also tried FC-XE, which appears not to have an FTP function at all -- at least it is not obvious.

Any ideas?

Drag&drop was never implemented for ftp. Try to use copy function (F5).

Thanks, that works. Sure is more awkward than D&D. I was certain I used D&D a couple years ago but I guess not if it was never implemented.

Will FTP become available in XE at some point? Or is it already there and I just can't find it??

What about splitter copy/move buttons, as workaround.

I do not understand "splitter copy/move buttons." Please explain. Thanks.

FTP is planned for this year.

I mean the splitter bar and the copy/move buttons, you could just select file(s) and then click the copy or move splitter buttons to copy/move to other panel, it's not the same as drag&drop, but it's a good workaround IMO.

To enable the splitter bar, open Settings dialog > go to View > Splitter > enable Copy and Move.

In addition, you can go to Confirmations > and select "no ask", then you will be able just to click the file (or select several files) and click the Copy/Move button, without any confirmations.

It's the info for the old 2009 version.

Thanks Dreamer, I've got it. I was not aware of that feature in FC-2009. It seems to be the default in FC-XE.

And thanks, Marek, for the info about FTP coming soon in XE.

New problem on same basic subject: FTP. I've been using FC-2009 for all my FTP work for several years but going to only one site. Now I want to set up another site and I've totally forgotten how I set up the first one. When I open FTP it brings me to my existing site and offers no clue as to how to set up a new one. It should be easy and obvious. What am I missing?

FTP is coming to FC-XE this year but, as far as I know, it is not yet available.

Problem solved!! The New Connection link was missing until I closed FC and restarted it, then, there it was and the rest is obvious.
