File "downloaded" on selection - help frame it as a question

#1 Post by leo_samba » 09.11.2014, 00:19

Please, help frame this as a question:

FreeCommander XE 2014 build 650 / Windows 7 Pro SP1

In the left pane only, when I single-click or move selection to an OpenOffice file, the standard download dialog is shown ("do you want to open or save this file" like in http://social.technet.microsoft.com/For ... ile/216871), and a "click" sound is heard.

In the same circumstances, PDF files loose selection in the pane (the line colour changes from blue to grey) and then cannot be renamed or deleted (a dialog is shown "the action can't be completed because the folder or a file is open in adobe acrobat. close the file and try again" like in http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tXEAyOxqHIk/U ... 5B1%5D.png)

Other types of files seem not to demonstrate such behaviour.

What could be the problem or the setting?
Thanx in advance.

Karol, thank you so much for the interest.
But disabling the download prompt is a security risk, I guess.

I just want to get to understand -- why does FreeCommander behaves likes Internet explorer in this particular regard -- is it a normal kind of behaviour or is only my own copy malfunctioning or mistuned?

Your sincerely, Leo.
