Is "the" only way to access my shared folders on other networked computers, to map drive letters to each folder using Tools menu|"Connect to network drive..." ?
Given that there are 'only' 26 letters in the alphabet, I was hoping for something more like in WindowsExplorer where (now in WinXP Pro sp3) I find all the folders in
My Network Places/Entire Network/Microsoft Windows Network/<LAN name>/<computername>/
without expending limited drive letters.
I love FC, even though (in case this matters) I'm using it in a view (IIRC a 1-pane view) that looks like WinExplorer does:
accessing Network shares w/o mapping to driveletter?
Re: accessing Network shares w/o mapping to driveletter?
Use "desktop" as base folder for the tree and you can access "Network" from FC.

Sweet, this is perfect for me in every way (given my apparent wish for a WinExplorer-type look/feel), thank you very much for a better solution/reply than I could have hoped for, joby_toss!joby_toss wrote:Use "desktop" as base folder for the tree and you can access "Network" from FC.
