The primary reason I seek alternative to Windows Explorer is that it simply cannot retain view settings per folder so they always stay that way and is correct every time I open that folder.
It appears FCXE cannot retain them either. I tried using "Column Profiles" to no avail. I have a few folders with image files I use frequently. I ALWAYS want the folder to open with images shown at a specified size. I find no way in FCXE to retian folder view settings. FCXE has nice features with lots of choices but the ones significant to me aren't there.
If I hear from any of you that this can be done, I will give it a shot. Otherwise, I'm back in the search for the umpteenth time for a good file explorer.
Retain Folder View Settings
Re: Retain Folder View Settings
As far as I know this can't be done. My work around is a one click operation -- I add the view icons on the action toolbar; list, details, thumbnails. This makes it very easy to change the view. I know this isn't what you're looking for and wish you the best in your search. In all my searching for the perfect file manager I have yet to find one that meets ALL my needs. However, I have found FreeCommander to be the closest to it. There are so many settings and features it does take time to learn, but I've got it dialed in now and use it extensively.
