FreeCommanderXE has problems sorting Kindle Documents

#1 Post by Rickrich » 03.03.2014, 02:39

Kindle books are contained in a folder named "documents"

Many, but not all ebooks have both a folder with an .scr extension and a file like .mobi. Some books also have other extensions like pdf, azw, PRC, epub etc. I imagine many of you probably know this.

FC will not sort these by unsorted. I can sort by name, extension, File type, size but it won't sort by unsorted.

By that I mean

aaa folder
aaa.mobi
bbb folder
bbb.mobi

It does this for any other folder I have on this computer. If I copy/paste the Kindle document folder to the desktop it will sort by unsorted just fine.

It may be something to do with how the Kindle handles its documents internally.

To remove books, for example, it's very handy to have all the files for a book together rather than simply sorted by name and extension. I do know I can remove or delete books directly from the device very easily but why does it do this?

Does anyone have advice for how to do this?

I don't know what "sorted by unsorted" means, but if you want your folders to be treated like files and sorted together, choose this option:
