Thanks for your help, y'all - I really appreciate it.
In fact, the HDD is dying.
I'm using Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier to copy the files off of the drive before it completely dies.
I had backups of the other partitions, but I hadn't ran the backup for this partition in a long time, apparently.

Re: Can't open just ONE folder
Well, I thought about that for a bit. I renamed the offending folder and now I can open it just fine. But I still don't know what the matter was. [a minute later...] Okay, I take that back. I could go into the folder *once*. Now FC is ghosted over. [a couple minutes later...] Okay, after about two m...

Can't open just ONE folder
There is this one folder I can't open with FreeCommander for about a week. I can open the folder in Windows Explorer with no problem. In FC I can open the other folders on the same disk (other folders in that same folder) just fine. It's just that one folder. Every time I try to open it in FC, FC gh...

Re: Failure to Copy to Android SD disk
Hi, Dreamer,
I use the FC copy button that I added to the splitter bar.
I never use the function bar at all (and for me F5 is refresh)

Failure to Copy to Android SD disk
Haha - here's a good one for you! Okay, so I have my Acer IconiaTab A100 Android tablet (circa 2011 A.D.) plugged in via USB as a media device. I can browse the contents of the "external SD" disk in it's SD drive bay. I can copy a chm file to the disk with Windows Explorer, but when I try ...

Freezes on Large File Move Between Local Drives
Today I am moving files from one drive to another. The drives are separate HDDs - one is NTFS and the other is formated exFAT, both drives attached via USB3. I am trying to move collections of files adding up to 100GB to 800GB at a time. When I do so, FC freezes (it ghosts white) whilst the move dia...

Re: Freezes on Network Shares
Okay, so the improvements for handling network shares have been wonderful. The cancel button is nice. However, we still aren't out of the evil dark forest. Say I have my laptop on, and on my desktop I browse to the admin share on the laptop. I open a couple of tabs to the laptop's shares. Now I open...

Re: Copy Without Dialogue
My point is that the dialogue flashes, and that if there's not supposed to be any dialogue, having one that flashes and becomes minimized isn't the same as no dialogue - it is a workaround. But at this point in FC's history, I think it would be "polished quality" (that's polish as in reall...

Re: Copy Without Dialogue
Thanks Dreamer - that did it. It was set to just plain old delete - funny thing I never got a Windows dialogue from that. I always had fc's dialogue. (version 726 x64; I know, I have to update) Okay, so doing it your way shows the dialogue window for a second and a half. Too bad "no dialogue&qu...

Re: Copy Without Dialogue
Thanks Ralfso - but that's the confirmation for Windows.
I'm talking about the FC dialogue called "Send to Recycle Bin" with the buttons: Queue, Run, Cancel.
I want to get rid of that one.

Re: Copy Without Dialogue
Well, maybe I'm confused, but I'm still having this problem. When I want to copy or delete something, I *ALWAYS* have to click through dialogues. I just want to push the button or key and be done with it. So I go to delete a file. I select it and push delete. A dialogue appears every time. Operation...

Weird-looking icons
In one of my FreeCommander installations, I have installed the 64bit version and all the icons are weird-looking. I installed it on Windows Server 2012. The icons don't look like any of my other installations. I have attached a screenshot. I want the old icons back. What can I do? I'm not sure how t...

Moving from structureless view to source dir
There is this one directory where I have lots of folders full of image files. My aim is to move all the files from the subdirectories into the parent. I go to that parent folder and toggle on structureless view to show all files in parent and all files in its subfolders. Then I MOVE all the files fr...

Did the icons change?
I recently updated my FCXE and changed from a 32 bit version to a 64bit version.
All the icons are different.
How can I get the old ones back? And why did they change?
