Hi Dreamer,

I installed FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 810a 32-bit public. Any version later than that causes problems with odd sequence pane opening.

I just installed FreeCommander XE 2020 Build 810a 32-bit public. Problem solved. The odd opening sequence in 860 may not be caused by the FreeCommander program but more how our computer parses the code. At any rate, 810a works perfectly. Both panes are displayed at the same time. I downloaded the portable version and it does the same thing. Perhaps I'll go back a couple of versions.

I just installed version 860 from 790. In the Start program > Start folder, I set a path. The right pane shows the correct path but the left pane doesn't expand the tree. It works! I set the sort order to Type->Ascending in the Default folder. All's well now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thanks Dreamer. I'll check into this. My main problem is the sort order not being remembered. I have to click the Type and Name columns manually each time the program is opened. Let me give your idea a go. Thanks again!

I think you're right Freeman. I checked but don't see a way to sort columns. You can only set conditions with "if" and "then" statements.

Thanks FreeMan. I do that too but when I close the program and open it again, the Names are all sorted from Z to A. It doesn't remember the sort order. No big deal if the program won't remember the order. I still love this much better than the MS garbage!!!
