it is possible to maintain "unsorted" view when sorting on name/date/size
Don't know if this question can be explained, but will try in easy way: currently, in FC, if you click View -> sort by -> Name (cntrl+f3), files and folders are sorted by name but folders are displayed on top (or bottom) and not in between the files. I call this step (a) If you then choose View -> S...

Google search: http://ebstudio.info/home/xdoc2txt.html 32 BIt: http://ebstudio.info/download/KWICFinder/xd2tx219.zip 64 Bit: http://ebstudio.info/download/KWICFinder/xd2tx2191_x64.zip Thanks! I tried it, and it works well :) but, if FC needs to first convert every pdf it needs to search, prior to t...

Re: How well is the search within PDF files plugin?
The search function (within PDF files) use the text converter program xdoc2txt.exe You can see and test how it works in the viewer https://freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/Converter.html. If the search function has to search for a text in a pdf file, then it first converts the pdf file into a text fil...

How well is the search within PDF files plugin?
I need a good tool to search contents within a bunch of PDF files. Not looking for search for file name, but actually search in the contents of these pdf files for a specific word (term). I thought this is possible with a plugin but only with a pro version of FC, right? Since I am considering donati...

Re: Compare in 2 panels
It's a misunderstanding, you can't add anything to main menu, you need to type "without" in the quick filter field - right above the OK/Cancel buttons, just to find that item easier and to add the toolbar button - and it's just the off topic item - "Copy name without extension as tex...

Re: Compare in 2 panels
I think, you are right, but also a lot people (like me), use FC as a tool and do not want/like to spend a lot of time configuring it. Easy/populair/handy functions should be available in the menu (drop down menu) by default when installation is done by default (a lot of people just click on OK durin...

Is it possible to only move/copy the file structure (hierarchie) without moving/copying the files in it?

Re: Compare in 2 panels
Right, it's missing in menu, all options should be in menu, if possible. You can find it in the address bar copy button submenu, you can create a toolbar button or/and assign a keyboard shortcut too. With all due respect, for me thats too much config to perform a simple task... The tip from me woul...

Re: feature request: implement option "exclude file extension" in Compare folders settings
I think you could use Search->Duplicates for the task. In the "Location" tab define File name: *.rtf;*.pdf Search in Folders: Path1;Path2 If all files are in one folder then use only Path1. In the "Duplicates" tab activate "Find duplicate files" and "Same file nam...

Implemented in v790: New action added "Copy name without extension as text" https://freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/UiAddressBarActionsToolbar.html The picture from FC-help doesn't show the new entry https://freecommander.com/fchelpxe/en/lib/NewItem66.png I use Build 810a 32-bit public, por...

Re: feature request: implement option "exclude file extension" in Compare folders settings
Maybe you can tell us for what purpose this should serve. Implementing something that doesn't seem sensible is not really my thing. The purpose looks simple to me: to be able to compare files with same name but different extension. Here is the use case: I had converted a bulk of .rtf files to .pdf ...

feature request: implement files with no extension in Quickfilter
The quickfilter now does not allow to select files with no extension... could this be created?
