give option of middleclick on folder name to open in new tab
FC 591 on w7 I noticed that at most of the places, if not at all the places", clicking a folder name from a list of menu or button, opens that folder in the current tab only. I also noticed that middleclick is not having any effect, means middle click is free and available to use. That is sort ...

Salutes to FC and its creators
When I had installed windows 7 on my xp pc, I was at a total loss with w7's windows explorer. It has default view and options changed, it showed a lot of systems folders at the top of the tree, "computer" wasn't even expanded to show partitions, let alone show folders, folder option was hi...

Re: non-sync of folder name in tree with right pane tab fold
yes, I also feel, as scott said, the name for the option doesn't become obvious to reflect what it does. so please consider making it more descriptive. -- It is there in FC 591, but ticking/unticking it doesn't change any behavior at all. Was it broken and has been corrected in recent releases. or a...

Re: non-sync of folder name in tree with right pane tab fold
I have that ticked, still the folder of selected right tab doesn't even appear on the left pane tree.
when I switch between 4 tabs in right pane, almost no movement happens in left pane.
Thanks.

non-sync of folder name in tree with right pane tab folder
another issue is non-sync of folder tree in left pane, and the currently selected tab in right pane. in the right pane, there are many tabs open and I click on a tab and select it, this selected tab's base folder or its expanded folder tree doesn't even show in right pane folder list, it has moved u...

Re: mouseover on folder name quickly opens it, and tree jump
in my 591 on w7-32 1. Yes, I want to move a right-pane file to some different folder shown in left pane folder list tree (not anywhere in open tabs in right pane). say, folder1 has subfolder1.1; and subfolder1.1 has subsubfolder1.1.1 say, folder2 has subfolder2.1; and subfolder2.2 has subsubfolder2....

Re: mouseover on folder name quickly opens it, and tree jump
My mistake. I am sorry for half expressing.
It is auto expand, ONLY DURING MOVE/COPY.
When I click and lock on a filename on right pane to copy/move to another folder, and move the mousepointer over a folder name on left, that expands too quickly.... so on.
I am on 591, last release for free users.

Re: if install folder and fcstart.ini are writable
Yep, that is it. did that, now it saving setting in my data folder, not in Users folder. your screenshots were perfectly clear, that is how I tried. But while your Help-About speaks about FcAppDataPath and FcSrcPath it didn't mention freeCommanderIniDir, so I couldn't understand it then. That solves...

Re: if install folder and fcstart.ini are writable
sorry for taking so much of your precious time. I don't want to change the installation folder. that is good to be at c:\Program Files. I think nobody would want to change that. So, I don't want fcStart.ini file with -- [Start] freeCommanderIniDir=%FcSrcPath% -- I have created a blank fcStart.ini in...

Re: if install folder and fcstart.ini are writable
I have made an e:My Data\fc folder where fc backs up its settings, and that folder has a subfolder being used by fc as TEMP. still, when I save settings, fc saves that is AppData folder in w7 installation. If I have to format and reinstall w7 someday, it will wipe that appdata folder and fc settings...

Re: if install folder and fcstart.ini are writable
I am the only user of this home pc, and I have admin rights. so, will it be ok to tell me how to do it? -- Also, when the software mentions a file "fcstart.ini" by name, it should be included somewhere so that users can at least search for it to locate it. currently we are wondering where ...

Re: fav folders open in current tab only
I have last released "free" beta version 591.
Anyway. I am glad that that feature has been included in fc. Whenever you give a version for free public, I will get that.
good enough. I shall wait.
Thanks.
