I can't reproduce it, you mean - select a file, press ctrl+c, ctrl+v, then try to rename the old or new file? If so, then I can rename both.

It will be possible in the next version. It's already posssible in the "not public beta" version. More here.

When using Number of digits in multi rename, it's possible to change the number with the mouse wheel, it's very useful, could you add the same feature also for "Start at" and "Step by" please?

When using option "Delete history entries on close", Multi rename entries are NOT deleted. These entries should be also deleted, or there should be another/separate option for Multi rename.

When changing Case with the mouse wheel/arrows, it's not refreshed in the New name, in multirename. To reproduce click twice to "No change" under "Case" and use a mouse wheel, or up/down arrow keys.

Order of the focused items is wrong when using Tab key - in Multi rename.

When using EXIF date [exif_taken] in Multi rename, following format is used: 10.04.2008 19:36:38 ":" character cannot be used for file names, so error dialo is shown. Perhaps the format from "Timestamp format" option should be used also for EXIF date, if possible, or it should be...
