You can use the portable version. Unzip to a location of your choice but not in typical windows-folders like program files or program files (x86).
FC doesn't need an installation.

Settings > View > Folder Tabs > Tab Management > Mark locked tabs with that character
If this setting is checked, the character entered in this input field will appear in front of a locked tab's title to symbolize the lock.

Maybe deactivate "Always keep one tab open" at settings > view > Folder Tabs > Tab Management.

I have v812 and it is fixed for me.
I have one button for thumbnail view and on the right side of this another with checked "show drop down arrow only".
So in my toolbar there are the two buttons. One for viewing thumbnails and the other (arrow down) for thumbnail size.

I know other programs with problems at very high win scaling factors. If you need such size of fonts and items maybe its better to reduce the resolution of the monitor so that all things on screen are bigger. With lower resolution you don't need such extremly high scaling factors. Other possibility ...
