871 - Auto-size functionality bug for Name column
FreeCommander XE v871 64-bit Donor has several significant bugs. Unfortunately, I'm sorry, but I only have a moment to post about one of them, and even this bug report will need to be brief. Specifically, the 'Auto-size' functionality no longer works correctly for the 'Name' column. With several loc...

844 - Crash on screen capture
This may be my last bug report due to the rudeness I recently experienced by a member of this community. It's one thing for a single mean person to be rude, but it's quite another thing for Marek and Dreamer to do nothing about it, and not even let me know that all my help is appreciated. I have not...

Re: 841 - Folder changes when moving file
the active folder of the source pane to change. Change how? It will be hard to reproduce, if I can't reproduce it at least once. If you use vertical layout, can you reproduce it too? FC either goes up one folder level in the folder hierarchy, or to the top level. Sorry, I don't use the vertical lay...

841 - Folder changes when moving file
FC 841 Donor 64-bit Win7 I haven't had enough spare time to generate a 100% STR for this yet, so here is a basic description of the issue: When two panes are displayed, and the focus in on a file in the top pane, SOMETIMES using the toolbar button to move the file to the bottom pane causes the activ...

841 - Wrong hash algorithm selected
FC 841 Donor 64-bit Win7 Wrong hash algorithm selected STR: 1. Open FC. 2. Configure an FC toolbar button to open the hash/checksum generator UI. 3. Open FC's hash/checksum generator window using a toolbar button. 4. Select SHA256 for the algorithm. 5. Close the hash/checksum window. 6. Save FC sett...

Re: Help requested diagnosing this issue
We can't test winh Windows 7, but as I said, you can test the other programs and find, where is the problem, just replace Notepad++ with notepad and FC with Explorer and test with the same steps. Anyway, if you're not sure if it's a FC, Windows, or Notepad++, you can try to reproduce it with FC+Not...

Re: Help requested diagnosing this issue
Notepad++ 7.8.5 After my upgrade to Win10 (~3weeks ago) I can't do tests on Win7 any more but I'm more than sure that there weren't problems like yours. Since that version of Notepad++ is over 10 months old, unfortunately, it's like comparing apples to oranges. There have been 7 releases of Notepad...

Re: Help requested diagnosing this issue
Thanks. Which version of Notepad++ x32 portable did you test with?
I tested with v7.9.1 and v7.9.2.
Win10 has different windows management code from Win7, so testing on Win7 is likely necessary.

Re: Help requested diagnosing this issue
I agree, it's definitely a bug. Although it's possible, I doubt it's a Windows bug. Whether or not it's a FreeCommander bug, I'm not certain. I think it's most likely a FreeCommander bug or a Notepad++ bug. That circles around to your request of another application to use for testing. As I wrote in ...

Re: Help requested diagnosing this issue
Given that I am likely the #1 bug reporter for FreeCommander in recent years, I think I'm pretty good at actually reporting bugs, don't you? This isn't a bug report. It's asking for help getting enough details to report an issue accurately. I tested using FreeCommander version 840 donor 64-bit on Wi...

FreeCommander.find.ini gets saved even when auto-save for settings is disabled
840 64-bit donor portable Win7 FreeCommander.find.ini gets saved (including settings for sort columns and column widths), even if auto-save for settings is disabled. I think this is best to be considered a bug because other settings for sort columns and column widths do not get saved when auto-save ...

Help requested diagnosing this issue
Has anyone else experienced the issue in which you use FreeCommander to open a file, and then when you close the application that was opened to display/edit the file, the foreground window is no longer FreeCommander? The issue seems to be quite random, and so it has been very difficult to develop co...
